Orientation Day

All new students to the Melbourne Graduate School of Management are required to attend Orientation Day which will be held in the Basement Lecture Theatre of 198 Berkeley Street (grid reference Q 13 on the campus map) at 9:30am* on:

Semester 1, 2010
Semester 2, 2010
Saturday 20 February 2010 Saturday 17 July 2010

 

 

*We would appreciate all students arrive at approximately 9.00am in order to register and collect enrolment packs prior to the start of the session at 9.30am.


You will meet the Academic Program Director and your program's administrative team, collect your online enrolment letter (which you will need to enrol online), receive information about your program, resources and support available to you, and have the opportunity to meet other new students.

International students please note:

Orientation Day is hosted by the Melbourne Graduate School of Management, and is different from the International Student Briefing hosted by International Student Services.  The International Student Briefing will be held on Friday 19 February (for new students commencing in Semester 1, 2010), and Monday 19 July (for new students commencing in Semester 2, 2010). 

All international students are required to attend both the International Student Briefing AND the Melbourne GSM Orientation Day.

The Student Host Program 

As part of Orientation Day, you will be assigned a student host who will lead you and a small group of other new Melbourne GSM students on a campus tour and help introduce you to life at the University.

The Student Host will be a current Melbourne GSM student and where possible we will try to match students and Host by program. The Host's main job is to help you get to know other students, answer your questions (or tell you where to find the answer), and generally help you settle in and find your way around.

The Student Host session will run from (exact times TBA) and Hosts will also attend the Director’s Welcome Lunch and the afternoon event hosted by the Melbourne GSM's Student Association.

Lunch

The Directors Welcome Lunch for all new students will be held between (exact times TBA) on Level 5, 198 Berkeley Street.

Melbourne GSM's Student Association Event

At the end of Orientation Day, Melbourne GSM''s Student Association will be hosting an informal Welcome BBQ. This will be a great opportunity for you to relax at the end of a busy day and socialise with fellow new and current graduate students. From 2:30pm onwards, Inu Bar, First Floor, Student Union Building.
