Master of Human Resource Management
Australian Human Resource Institute
The Master of Human Resource Management is an Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI) accredited program. Master of HRM graduates are automatically eligible for AHRI Member status (MAHRI). Master of HRM graduates with two years of AHRI membership and five years or professional HR experience are eligible for Certified Professional status (CAHRI).
The Australian Human Resource Institute has set a range of goals for the overall development of HRM as a driver of organisational success and for the career development of individual practitioners. AHRI's national Accreditation Committee is engaged in ongoing research into the state of the HR profession and the competencies required for HR to fulfil its role now and into the future. The committee is headed by Paul Dainty from the Melbourne Business School and includes academics and professionals who have assessed the needs of industry and refer closely to international research.
As a result of this, AHRI's accreditation of our Master of HRM program is a strong endorsement of the professional standards communicated in our course. It is expected that an accredited Master of HRM will contribute to the development of the HR profession and practitioners by equipping graduates with the following capabilities:
- To add value to the organisation by operating effectively as people management professionals within a business environment.
- To play a strategic role in change, influencing and advising others from the people management perspective.
- To identify and respond to stakeholder needs and manage relationships with all relevant stakeholders.
- To enhance the strategic and systemic management of people within organisations through corporate practice, consultancy, research or teaching.
- To apply professional HR knowledge as a specialist or generalist.
- To behave in a professional, ethical manner in accordance with the Professional Standards Code.
