Detailed subject descriptions can be found in the University's Course and Subject Handbook. Be sure to enter discipline-specific keywords in the search field to access the most relevant information.
Preparing and applying
As a student in a commerce-related discipline, it is important to spend some time researching which Melbourne GSM subjects will best match your needs and interests. It is highly recommended that you seek advice from your Study Abroad Office, your lecturers or from the Melbourne GSM’s Study Abroad and Exchange Advisor.
Things to remember:
- Many subjects taught at the Melbourne GSM have prerequisites, and this is assessed as part of the application process. Searching the Course and Subject Handbook may help you gauge whether your prior studies might enable you to satisfy subject prerequisites.
- It is your responsibility to confirm that your studies at the University of Melbourne will adhere to the requirements of your home institution. Be especially mindful of this if you are seeking to change subjects after arriving in Australia.
- Accreditation requirements imposed by professional organisations or institutes in your home country may influence your subject choice. Please familiarise yourself with any such requirements.
- You may wish to think beyond your core commerce requirements and consider enhancing your studies with subjects from other disciplines, especially if they are unavailable at your home institution.
