Graduate students enjoy the support of a dedicated Graduate Careers Centre (GCC). The GCC is the first school-based specialist unit in the University dedicated to steering graduate students towards the best possible career outcomes.
The Centre provides professional and career development programs - including industry mentors, internships and employer days - with the goal of helping you to improve self-awareness, career knowledge and networks, and job search and workplace skills.

At an average age of 27, Melbourne GSM graduates are younger than those of most other graduate schools. Many move into their first professional role on completion of their studies.
Of our 2006 graduates available for full time work, 76.9% of our graduates were in full time work within four months of completion. Of these graduates:
- 89% of postgraduates reported their job was directly or somewhat related to their studies
- 94.1% of postgraduates expressed high or moderate satisfaction with their job
- The mean salary for our 2006 graduates was A$70,613 and the median salary was A$55,000.
