Each year the Faculty of Economics and Commerce offers a range of scholarships to assist graduate students enrolled at the Melbourne GSM.

AG Whitlam Scholarships

Details
Local Students
International Students
Eligibility Available to Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens, Australian Permanent Residents or Permanent Humanitarian Visa Holders commencing a Masters by Coursework program at the Melbourne GSM. Available to citizens of any other country (excluding New Zealand) commencing a Masters by Coursework program at the Melbourne GSM.
Selection Criteria Awarded on the basis of academic merit. Awarded on the basis of academic merit.
Value Cover 50% fee remission for the duration of the course. Cover 50% fee remission for the duration of the course.
Deferability No No
2009 Application Deadline
  • Separate application is not necessary. All eligible candidates offered a place in a Masters by Coursework program at the Melbourne GSM will be considered.
  • Candidates with conditional offers will be eligible for remaining unallocated awards only once conditions are met.

  • Separate application is not necessary. All candidates made an unconditional offer for a Masters by Coursework program at the Melb GSM will be automatically considered.

    Common Supported Place (CSP)

    Details
    Local Students
    International Students
    Eligibility

    Available to:

  •  Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens, Australian Permanent Residents or Permanent Humanitarian Visa Holders;
  • Undertaking full-time or part-time studies in the Master of Management (Accounting), Master of Professional Accounting, Master of Commerce (Finance), Master of Economics, Master of Commerce (Management) or the Master of Commerce (Marketing).
    		• Not available to international students.
    Selection Criteria Awarded on the basis of academic merit. (Candidates must hold a University of Melbourne grade point average of 75+, or equivalent, to be considered.)  
    Value The estimated full-time yearly contribution for 2010 CSP students is $8,859 ($1,107 per 12.5 credit point subject).  
    Deferability Cannot be deferred. You may be considered against all other applicants in the following round.  
    2009 Application Deadline
  • To be considered for a CSP, you must submit your application by:

    • Semester 1 (February) entry: 30 November
    Semester 2 (July) entry: 31 May

    Graduate Access Melbourne

    Details

    International Students
    Eligibility

    You must:

  • be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or Australian permanent resident, or holder of a permanent Humanitarian Visa;
  • be eligible for entry into the Master of Management (Accounting) or the Master of Professional Accounting; and meet the requirements specified in one or more of the Access categories.
    		•  Not available to international students.
    Selection Criteria Demonstrated eligibility under one or more of the Access categories.  
    Value Value of the CSP: the estimated full-time yearly contribution for 2010 CSP students is $8,859 ($1,107 per 12.5 credit point subject).  
    Deferability No  
    2009 Application Deadline
  • To apply you must complete the Graduate Access Melbourne Form (including any relevant documentation required under the relevant category) and submit it together with your Graduate (coursework) Application Form to the Melbourne GSM.
  • Applications must be received by the CSP application deadline.

    Graduate Access Melbourne Bursary

    Details

    International Students
    Eligibility Candidates accepted into an approved Masters by Coursework program through the Graduate Access Melbourne program. Not available to international students.
    Selection Criteria Academic merit and the documented disadvantage associated under Access categories.  
    Value One-off grant of $5,000 designed to support students in the meeting the costs associated with graduate study.  
    Deferability No  
    2009 Application Deadline Separate applications are not accepted and all successful Graduate Access candidates will be automatically considered.
