Student Host Program

A Student Host is a current student or recent graduate who volunteers their time to meet and greet new students on Orientation Day. Being a student host develops your leadership and communication skills, and gives you the chance to network with other students from around the world.

Creating Future Leaders Series

The Creating Future Leaders Series is an initiative from the Melbourne Graduate School of Management which engages students with the experiences, thoughts and recommendations of successful key business men and women from Australia and overseas, through seminars and presentations.

Student Clubs and Societies

There are many student societies and groups present on campus. The Melbourne GSM encourages students to join and be active in student society activities. It is a great way to get involved and to develop your leadership skills whilst enhancing your social and professional networks.

The Echo Newspaper

The Echo is a newspaper for students of the Faculty of Economics and Commerce, which is designed to inform students about, and promote the academic and social activities that enliven the Faculty of Economics and Commerce community. Writing for The Echo will help you to develop your communication skills and may be cited as an extra-curricular activity on your CV.

LIVE Unit

The University's LIVE Unit (Leadership, Involvement and Volunteering Opportunities Unit) offers students an extensive range of leadership and volunteering opportunities, including the University's Community Volunteer Program and a web based volunteering search facility.

Student Ambassador Leadership Program (SALP)

The Student Ambassador Leadership Program (SALP) provides the opportunity for students to work and learn together in a way that enhances their leadership skills and attitudes by getting involved in the community. Student ambassadors offer their services to the University with activities that include public speaking roles, facilitating host and discussion groups, and liaison with university staff and prospective students.

Mentoring Programs

Through our Teaching & Learning Unit you can apply to be a mentor to new Melbourne GSM students via the Peer Mentoring Program or develop your professional networks through the Graduate Careers Centre's Career Mentoring Program.

Asialink

Asialink is Australia’s leading centre for the promotion of public understanding of the countries of Asia and of Australia’s role in the region. Headquartered at the University's Sidney Myer Asia Centre, Asialink is a key provider of information, training and professional networks. Melbourne GSM students can participate in Asialink's vibrant program of free public lectures, panels and networking opportunities which explore and debate Asia-related issues and events.

Ampersand

Ampersand is committed to making the volunteer sector more accessible to students in Australia. The Ampersand Network makes it easy to find volunteer work with conservation projects all over the country or overseas, and is set up by one of our own graduates no less!
