Leadership and Volunteering Opportunities

The Melbourne Graduate School of Management encourages its students be involved both on and off campus in leadership, community engagement and volunteering activities, locally and globally.

For example, why not volunteer to be a Student Host at Orientation, help organise an activity for the Melbourne GSM Student Group or put yourself forward to be one of their Executive Committee? If you enjoy writing, how about submitting an article for the Faculty's newspaper The Echo? Through our Teaching & Learning Unit you can apply to be a mentor to new Melbourne GSM students via the Peer Mentoring Program or develop your professional networks through the Graduate Careers Centre's Career Mentoring Program.

The University's LIVE Unit (Leadership, Involvement and Volunteering Opportunities Unit) offers students an extensive range of leadership and volunteering opportunities, including the University's Community Volunteer Program and a web based volunteering search facility.

The Student Ambassador Leadership Program (SALP) provides the opportunity for students to work and learn together in a way that enhances their leadership skills and attitudes by getting involved in the community.

Student Ambassadors offer their services to University programs with activities that include public speaking roles, facilitating host and discussion groups, and liaison with university staff and prospective students.

Outside of the University there are many organisations and websites which promote volunteering opportunities and coommunity based initiatives. One such organisation is Ampersand (set up by one of our own graduates no less!)
