Library Services
The University of Melbourne Library is one of the nation’s oldest and largest academic libraries and is spread across 22 branch libraries. The collection includes books, journals and magazines, periodicals, newspapers, parliamentary papers, audio-visual materials, online, microform and CD-ROM databases, maps, musical scores and recordings, rare books and prints. More than 20 languages are represented.
The Giblin Economics and Commerce Library is a specialised branch library that offers a large, continually updated collection to all academic staff, researchers and students in the Faculty. The Giblin library provides a comprehensive information service and is staffed by trained, expert librarians who offer a high level of assistance in research. Collections in the Giblin Library cover the broad fields of Economics and Commerce with special strengths in the areas of finance, trade, accounting, management, marketing, business and economics. Current areas for development include e-commerce and international business with special emphasis on the Asia Pacific area. In addition to the library catalogue of publications and other multi-media sources, students can access a large range of online databases, journals, working papers, company profiles and statistical information.
